Almost 15 years since Zoolander came into our sad, bitter lives, Will Ferrell, a.k.a. Mugatu, dropped some news about the new film to joblo.com.
Ferrell said that the script is done, and that his character will return. Mugatu is a campy, success-hungry fashion designer corrupted by the promise of cheap labor and world domination.
“We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon, and Mugatu is a part of it,” Ferrell said.
The premise of the sequel, apparently, is that Derek and Hansel are past their prime, trying to compete against the rise of the much younger models. It will reportedly be directed by Justin Theroux (star of ‘The Leftovers’ on HBO).
Also linked to the film are Cara Delevingne and Jonah Hill.
